FIGHT OVERVIEW
  • A single phase and pure single target fight. Kill Volcoross before you run out of space.

  • The encounter arena is a ring surrounded by lava with the boss immobile in the center.

  • Early on in the fight, Volcoross forces you to split your raid in half. One half goes left and the other half goes right.

  • Each group has to soak massive globs of lava that then fill a part of the ring with lava. You reunite at the end of the fight.

Flood of the Firelands
Soak Mechanic

At 100 energy, Volcoross launches two massive globs of lava on the platform. After five seconds, they land and create permanent magma pools that cover an entire section of the ring.

Each pool should be soaked by half the raid to split the damage. If less than four players soak then the raid dies. This forces you to split your raid into two, with each group circling the ring on different sides and soaking their own nearby pools.

The globs always land near the pools that were dropped by the previous ones.

At the end of the fight, the raid reunites. Kill the boss before the whole ring is flooded with magma.

Coiling Flames
Jumping Debuff

One ranged and one melee player on both sides are marked by a circle for 12s, taking damage and dealing damage to nearby players. The circles slowly shrink and deal increasing damage.

When they expire, the affected players explode 4s later, dealing lethal damage split with nearby players. It then jumps to a new player.

If players soak more than one explosion at a time, they die. On both sides, set up two groups of five players. One group always soaks the melee player, the other the ranged player.

Coiling Flames fades before the next Flood of the Firelands.

The boss's tail slams onto the platform, instantly killing any players it strikes.

Lava waves spawn on each side of the tail when it hits the ground. Anticipate and dodge.

A shadow appears where the tail will strike.
