This fight has 2 phases.
The player with the highest non-tank threat after 15s of the fight will be bitten by the boss.
After a minute and for the rest of the fight they have to bite a new player, and so on.
Use Bloodlust at 4:30 when you reach the maximum number of vampires.
Blood-Queen Lana'thel gains a buff which increases her permanent raid damage by 5% per vampire in the room.

The boss is on the ground during this phase.
Lana'thel deals splashing damage to players, range should be spread to avoid damage.
The boss has a tight dps-check, hit hard and manage the vampire bites properly!
EVERYONE
BITE SOMEONE WHEN YOU
GAIN THE BITE ABILITY OR
YOU WILL WIPE THE RAID.
This is the core mechanic of the fight. The boss bites the highest threat player after the tanks, turning them into a vampire for the rest of the encounter and granting a 75s (60s in 25) 100% damage buff with 15% of their damage healing them.
Upon expiration of the buff, bitten players have 15 seconds to bite someone else or they get MC'ed and will very quickly wipe the raid. Always bite DPS players unless you have no other choice.
Try to have your highest single target DPS to be bitten first. Range will usually be a better choice as they can continue DPS'ing when Lana'thel is in the air.
This mechanic acts as a soft enrage. After a certain amount of time (depending on the raid size), there isn't any players left to bite and the raid wipes.
EVERYONE
RUN CLOSE TO A WALL
WHEN YOU RECEIVE
THIS DEBUFF.
LINKED PLAYERS
RUN TO EACH OTHER
WHEN YOU ARE LINKED.
Lana'thel links 3 random players, causing them to inflict damage to any non-linked players within 10 yards.
The effect is removed when the linked players are within 5 yards of each other.
The common strategy is to make the linked players meet close to the middle of the room.
The boss deals permanent damage every 2s to all players in 40 yards.
This leads to a lot of damage, and managing your mana can be challenging.
Every so often Lana'thel deals a 6yds AoE on a random player.
Stay spread from each other to reduce avoidable damage.
After 3s of fight, the boss links the main tank to the closest player, mirroring all the damage inflicting to the tank to the linked player.
Tanks have to be stacked and stay close to each other to keep the link between them.
Upon landing from flying in the air, Lana'thel reapplies this link.
In Heroic, the boss gains a 5% buff on the permanent damage aura, increased by the number of vampires in the room.
When the maximum number of vampires is reached, this leads to an 80% damage increase on the aura.
When turned into a vampire, every 60s the player has to bite someone. His action bar changes and only the vampiric bite ability becomes available.
If the player doesn't bite anyone within 15 seconds, they will be mind controlled by the boss and quickly wipe the raid.

Blood-Queen Lana'thel goes to the middle of the room and fears all players.
It's a heavy healing phase, use your raid-wide cooldowns and defensives!
EVERYONE
SPREAD AND
USE DEFENSIVES.
Right before flying off, Lana'thel fears all players for 4s. This can be avoided with tremor totems or dispels.
Priests should Fear Ward themselves and use mass dispel on the raid.
Position yourself quickly after the fear as the boss starts to channel the bolts.
